TAGHAZOUT.WHERE THE ATLANTICMEETS MOROCCO.
Twenty kilometres north of Agadir, a whitewashed village hangs above the ocean. Fishing boats below, surfboards above, mint tea everywhere in between. Welcome to Taghazout.
The village
SLOW LIVING,FAST WAVES.
Life here runs on two clocks: the tide chart and the sun. Mornings belong to the ocean, afternoons to the terraces, evenings to the long table. It's a place that turns "a week away" into the standard you measure everything else against.
A fishing village
Taghazout was casting nets long before it was catching swells. The harbour, the boats and the old-timers are still the soul of the village.
A surf mecca
Anchor Point put this coast on the map in the 60s. Today, 16 waves scatter along 20 kilometres — one for every wind and every level.
Cafés & rooftops
Coffee on a terrace above the Atlantic, amlou on warm bread, and the evening ritual of watching the light go.
The Atlas backdrop
The desert doesn't end at the beach. Argan trees, goat herds and Paradise Valley's pools start just behind the village.
